Driving Energy: Avarice for essentials, private time, and knowledge.
 
Avoidance: Intrusion and demands by others that might lead to depletion of energy or to inadequacy.
 
Strengths: Keeper of confidence, Appreciative of simplicity, Calm in crises, Knowledgeable.
 
Paradox: Striving to self-sufficiency cuts one from essential resources.
 
Path of Development
 Experience feelings in the moment.
Stay connected rather than withdrawing.
Allow more people into protective circle.
Reveal personal matters, express self.
Engage in physical activity.
 
Ultimate Task: Reconnecting to the energy of life force and heartfelt feelings, realizing that ample energy and resources are available.
 
The following simple practices will assist the development of Type Ones.
It may be useful to record your reactions.
  1. For the next week, pay particular attention to your tendency to limit emotional involvement and prolonged engagement with others.
  2. Make conscious effort to stay connected and present, despite the inclination to withdraw.
  3. At the end of each day, reflect on the ample energy and resources available from connecting to others.
