Compensating Belief: I am unimportant so I must blend in.
 
Attention/Copying Strategy: Forget the self and seek belonging; Pulled away from personal priorities by external claims and priorities.
 
Trap: Seeking outside the self for comfort and harmony.
 
Driving Energy: Inertia (sloth) toward self.
 
Avoidance: Conflict, Discomfort.
 
Strengths: Excellent mediator; Understanding; Caring and supportive of others.
 
Paradox: Neglecting self in pursuit of comfort produces discomfort.
 
Path of Development
Make self important.
Set own priorities.
Love self as well as others.
Accept discomfort and charge as a part of life.
 
Ultimate Task: Reclaiming unconditional love for yourself and a sense of importance equal to that for all others.
 
The following simple practices will assist the development of Type Nines.
It may be useful to record your reactions.
  1. For the next week, notice how your decisions reflect/do not reflect your own personal priorities.
  2. Make a conscious effort to include these personal priorities and respect your own limits and boundaries.
  3. At the end of each day, reflect on how unconditional self-love is necessary to sustain love for others.
